Lesson 5: Let Go and Let God!

I have had people tell me about how they prayed for something and it didn’t work out, or how they are lost and confused and did not know what to do. The truth is most times, we do not actually let God take over. We just pray and inform him of our plans and ask him to fit himself in it, instead of asking him to plan and direct us. Other times, we do not completely let go, we let go but still keep reminding God and try to make preventive measures in case it doesn’t work out.

Now, how do you let go and let God?

The first step is to ask him, what is your plan for me? Rather than saying Lord i am travelling, take control, or i applied for this job, grant me favor. We should say I have lost my job, what is the next way to go, I want to go to school but have no money, what do i do? It is extremely important to ensure that God’s plan is your plan else you would end up chasing your tail. And yes, God has a way of leading us back to the right track, however you would have wasted a couple of years doing the wrong thing.

Secondly, we should be rest assured that once God has said yes, it must surely come to pass. There is no need to panic, just trust . It may take a while: months or even years but eventually it will come.

Numbers 23 :19b hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Lastly, thank God in advance. We should be able to believe that God has done it already and show gratitude. When we do this, there is absolutely no way God will not answer.
